Please join us in empowering the children of China.

We seek donations of new children’s books from publisher and distributors. In addition, we seek donations of children’s music, software, videos, and DVDs.

Apple Tree Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Your in-kind donation is deductible for tax purposes.

Currently we need fiction and non-fiction materials suitable for ages ranging from toddlers to 4nd graders. In later years, we may need materials for more advanced reading levels.

Donate Funds

Please join us in empowering the children of China.

Apple Tree Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Your cash donation is deductible for tax purposes.

You may donate to our current projects that seek funding, or you may donate to our general fund.

Or, as a donor, you may suggest the city where a new English library will be created. After a feasibility study and needs assessment, together we will determine if the project can go forward. It will become a permanent integral part of a city’s public library system, financed by the local government and supported by US library science professionals.

It typically takes approximately one year from initial contact to grand opening.

Upon completion, the entire population of the city will benefit from the English language literary materials for generations to come.

You may request a dedication plaque to be installed at the library. You will have the opportunity to put books on the shelves and to cut the ribbon on Grand Opening Day. You will be welcomed to participate in reading to the local children or handing out awards at contests.

On your travels in China, you will always have a place where your visit is truly appreciated. Most important of all, you will know that your donation is making a significant and lasting social impact in the city that is dear to you.

Adopt a Library

Share your love for books. Adopt an Apple Tree Library in China.

Help the library organize reading or story telling contests, suggest ideas for their reading programs, rally local volunteers to read to the children, recruit US volunteers to be pen pals with young readers at “your” library, read and respond to patron feedback, set up sister-library relations with US libraries, provide personal and individualized support, etc.
